Parks, Playgrounds and Trails
Public spaces that bring communities outside, built safe, accessible and durable.
Parks, Playgrounds and Trails in Toronto and across Ontario
Parks are some of the most used public assets a community owns. Playgrounds must meet safety standards, paths and play spaces must be accessible, and everything must stand up to heavy use and Ontario winters.
We build and renew playgrounds, splash pads, sports courts, trails, park shelters, seating areas and landscaping for municipalities, school boards, housing providers and developers. Play equipment is installed to the manufacturer's instructions and CSA Z614, and accessible features follow the AODA Design of Public Spaces Standards where they apply.
Harborline Sterling Construction Inc. is principal-led. One of our co-founders, Mansoor Alam Khan or Maqsood Mohammed, oversees every project, so decisions get made quickly and you always know who is accountable.

What standard applies to playgrounds in Canada?
CSA Z614, Children's Playspaces and Equipment, is the national standard. Many owners require an inspection by a certified playground safety inspector before a new playground opens.
Do outdoor play spaces need to be accessible?
Under the AODA Design of Public Spaces Standards, organizations that must comply have to consult on and build accessibility into new and redeveloped outdoor play spaces, including accessible ground surfaces and features. We build to the approved design.
Can you build while the rest of the park stays open?
Yes. We fence off work zones, keep paths and amenities open where possible, and plan deliveries and noisy work to limit disruption.
Do you supply play equipment?
We install equipment from the owner's chosen supplier, or coordinate supply as part of our contract when the tender allows it.
Can you renew an older playground?
Yes. We remove old equipment and surfacing, correct drainage, and install new equipment and surfacing to current standards.
